Emergency teams were called shortly after 7.30am to the A140 near Marsham, between Aylsham and Hevingham, close to the junction for Buxton.

Fire crews from Aylsham and Sprowston freed one person using hydraulic rescue equipment, while ambulance teams attended to a man, aged about 50, complaining of neck pain, and another driver, aged about 35, with chest pains.

Both were taken to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

A spokesman for Norfolk police said: “Both drivers were put on back-boards as a precaution, but the injuries were not believed to be serious.”
