Two motorists been to be freed from the wreckage of their vehicles after serious collisions with roadside trees.

Fire crews were called to the accidents which both happened in West Norfolk within the space of half an hour of each other.

The in the first incident fire crews from Sandringham and Kings Lynn South attended to reports of a vehicle fire on the A149 in Babingley at 1.45pm on Saturday.

Firefighters used heavy rescue equipment to release a female trapped in the vehicle and gave casualty care at the side of the road until paramedics arrived. The vehicle was then stabilised and the scene made safe.

Less than half an hour later appliances from Kings Lynn North and Methwold attended another road traffic collision on the Downham Road at Stradsett after reports of an accident at 2.13pm.

Crews used hydraulic rescue equipment to released the occupants from a vehicle which had also collided with a tree. Ambulance crews were called treat the casualty.
