A sparkling array of classical music will fill Norwich’s grand Assembly House when a specialist orchestra takes to the stage.
The Imperial Vienna Orchestra, a 35-musician ensemble dedicated to promoting awareness of Austrian and salon orchestral music in the UK, will play a repertoire of works from masters including Strauss and Waldteufel. Maestro Dario Salvi will lead the Norwich-based orchestra and guests are invited to get their dancing shoes on as the pieces have been specially orchestrated with movement in mind, and will include tangos, foxtrots, slow waltzes and easy party dances.
Resident dancing supremo Niall O’Brien and his friendly host dancers will also be on hand to help guide guests through easy, fun-to-do Viennese-style party dances.
The Grand Ball is being held in the Noverre Ballroom on Sunday, June 2 from 4.30pm to 6.30pm. Tickets at £17 or £30 for couples are available from Norwich Theatre Royal.
