The heavy rain saw numbers dwindle at last week’s event, but with some sunnier weather forecast, the Tuesday Market Place looks likely to be packed with concert-goers tonight (Friday) and tomorrow.

“We have got some fantastic acts booked and really can’t wait,” said Festival Too committee member Alan Taylor. “If the weather holds up, the festival could bring 20,000 people into Lynn over the two days.”

Tonight will see performances from a Jessie J tribute act from 7.30pm and dance outfit Soul II Soul, best known for its 1989 UK chart-topper Back to Life (However Do You Want Me).

Headlining will be ska punk and reggae band The Selecter, due on stage at about 9.30pm.

Festival-goers will be entertained by seven different acts tomorrow night (Saturday), starting at 6.30pm with Lincolnshire-based band I Am The Dice, the winners of this year’s battle of the bands competition.

There will also be performances from X Factor runner-up Marcus Collins, girl band Vanquish, pop group Tilly, singer Ben Montague and Britain’s Got Talent favourite Ryan O’Shaughnessy.

Soul singer Lemar is due on stage at 10.20pm after going down a storm at the festival in 2010.

“The festival has been going 27 years now and we have booked more acts than ever before this year,” Mr Taylor added. “On Saturday we are trying something different and showcasing a lot of new talent.”

The EDP-backed event is thought to be the largest free music festival in Europe.
