The Big Brew Up event, organised by Sainbury’s supermarket in Thorpe, will run on Sunday, October 28, between 10am and 4pm in aid of the store’s chosen charity, SSAFA, for which they have already raised almost £4,000. The charity provides financial, practical and emotional assistance to anyone that is serving or has ever served in the Army, Navy or RAF, and their families.

Susie Lynn, the charity champion at the store, described the SSAFA as a “really great charity” .

Entry is free and organisers say that people are invited to bring their own cakes for the fundraiser.
