Thieves steal 19 classic chainsaws worth £2,000 from Dereham garage

Nineteen classic chainsaws worth £2,000 in total have been stolen from a Dereham garage.

The crime happened some time between 12pm on Sunday, January 12 and 11am on Sunday, January 19 in Theatre Street.

Burglars forced some of the wooden panels off the side of the garage, which is accessed via Kings Road, stole the chainsaws and then left through the garage door onto Kings Road.

The chainsaws are described as being collectable and had been personally restored by the owner. In total, 19 chainsaws were stolen with a combined value of about £2,000.

They were all manufactured by Stihl and the stolen models included 3x 08S, 2x 028 WoodBoss, 2x 038 Woodboss and 2x 015.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to contact PC Ed Arbuthnot at Dereham Police Station on 101.
