Thickthorn roundabout partially closed after car hits central reservation on A47

Rush hour traffic has been hit by delays around the Thickthorn roundabout this evening after a car smashed into the central reservation.

A grey Audi travelling westbound on the A47 hit the central reservation between the junctions with the A140 Ipswich Road and A11 Newmarket Road at around 5.30pm.

Police closed off the slip road to the A47 at the Thickthorn roundabout for traffic heading west, while the debris and damage is cleared up.

A black taxi and Nissan Micra also collided on Mile Cross Road in Norwich at the junction with the A1067 Drayton Road, forcing police to partially close the road.

The crash at 4.45pm followed a collision at 4.30pm between a blue Mazda and white Luton van on Sweet Briar Road.
