Today’s inquest in Norwich heard that Mr Bevington’s body was found next to the track, about a mile from Thetford train station, and he was identified by British Transport Police using fingerprint evidence.

The cause of death was given as head and neck injuries.

The case will be reviewed on or about June 4 with a view to fixing a date for the inquest.

As reported, officers from Norfolk police and British Transport Police had searched along the track after being alerted at 8am on April 5 to reports that the body of a man was on the railway.
