Thetford Academy students have been given the red carpet treatment as they celebrated the end of their school years at a glitzy prom.
Students arrived at Lynford Hall in everything from a double decker Routemaster bus to a fleet of Lambretta scooters and a Porsche at the bash on July 18.
All the stops were pulled out for the Year 11 students, with prizes for students and a surprise “flash mob” dance performance from staff to the tune of Pharrell William’s, Happy.
Kylie Parker was the winner of the best arrival, after turning up on a horse and cart, while Jay Penrose and Kathryn Towell were named the prom king and queen.
Chanelle Oswick, assistant principal, said the event was a special night for students.
“I think it’s a celebration of the hard work they have put in over the last five years at the school and a chance to say goodbye to their friends as they move on,” she said.
The students took their last exams on June 19, with the academy’s term ending last Wednesday.
