Your EDP is leading the region’s fightback from last week’s devastating floods with a massive appeal – the EDP Norfolk and Lowestoft Flood Appeal.

EDP editor Nigel Pickover said: “We kick-started the EDP Norfolk and Lowestoft Flood Appeal with a £1,000 donation, which has been matched by the Norfolk Community Foundation, and urge readers to respond to the rallying cry, as they always do.

“The need on our coast is critical, and it is essential that emergency help reaches these stricken communities as soon as possible. There are many people who have suffered terrible loss, including some who have lost everything and, in some cases, who have no insurance.

“It is heartbreaking, and we cannot stand by and watch. That is why we have launched the EDP Norfolk and Lowestoft Flood Appeal, and urge everybody to dig deep to help out their neighbours at their time of greatest need.”

WAYS TO DONATE:

■ Transfer money online to THE EDP NORFOLK AND LOWESTOFT FLOOD APPEAL - Handelsbanken account number: 32314046 Sort code: 40-51-62

■ Drop a cheque made payable to the Norfolk Community Foundation, into their offices at St James Mill, Whitefriars, in Norwich

■ By visiting the offices of North Norfolk District Council in Cromer. If you do this, cheques should be made payable to NNDC

Two Government ministers – Norfolk MPs Norman Lamb and Brandon Lewis – immediately added their own personal £100 donations.

Mr Pickover added: “Let’s hope and pray our incredible Norfolk and Suffolk businesses can find it in their hearts to spare £500 each to swell these coffers.

“We want to give hope where currently there is little, or none.”

Thank you very much for your support and generosity.
