The EDP demands a fair price for farmers in Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge

As supermarket chiefs meet the farming minister in Westminster today the country is in the middle of a milk crisis pushing dairy farmers in East Anglia and across the land to the brink of bankruptcy.
A large part of the problem is that the supermarkets have been in a price war, charging ever lower prices for milk, but at the same time refusing to absorb the loss.
They have instead used their overpowering market position to push the loss on to dairy farmers, demanding they sell milk for so little in some cases the price does not cover the cost of production.
The time has come for things to change.
