Tesco clothing firm F&F launches range of children’s clothes to raise money for King’s Lynn-based Scotty’s Little Soldiers

The company which makes clothes for Tesco has adopted a King’s Lynn charity which supports the children of fallen service personnel.

The deal is expected to bring thousands of pounds to Scotty’s Little Soldiers, which was set up in memory of Cpl Lee Scott, from Lynn, who was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan, in 2009.

Scotty’s has raised thousands since it was launched by Cpl Scott’s wife Nikki, in 2010. The money has helped support more than 100 children of fallen servicemen and women, buy two holiday lodges and fund stays in them.

Now F&F, which makes clothes for Tesco, is launching a range of children’s clothes for Scotty’s, with the profits going to help more families in need.

Mrs Scott said: “We are thrilled that F&F are expressing such strong support for Scotty’s and the new range of clothing looks fantastic.

“Seeing the range for the first time in person just a few weeks ago was a very exciting moment indeed and one that signifies how we’re on the threshold of really growing across the UK. We’re hiping to create a lot of awareness nationally and help spread the word.”

Mrs Scott said she received a call inviting her to pitch her ideas to F&F bosses, after she wrote to its chief executive, asking if the company could support her work.

“We were really lucky it got to the right person and hit home,” she said.

Emma Goodall, lead buying manager at F&F, said: “When Scotty’s approached us we were moved by the work of the charity and as a result, in conjunction with them, have launched this new range of clothing.

“It’s our first such range to have been designed and created in partnership with a charity, so we’re looking forward to its launch and assisting Scotty’s with their fundraising initiatives in 2014 and beyond.”

The selection includes hero items such as baby grows, hoodies and tee shirts, including the Scotty’s logo and with a loose nod to military wear with combat motifs, commander stripes and helicopters for the boys. The girls’ selection includes pink camouflage patterns and sparkly love-hearts.

It will also be sold on F&F’s section of the Tesco.com website.
