A fundraising page has been set up in memory of a west Suffolk teenager who tragically died following complications with asthma less than eight years after the death of her brother in similar circumstances.

Tegan Wagner, 13, a pupil at Westley Middle School, in Bury St Edmunds, died during February half-term.

Her brother Owen died in November 2010, aged nine, after suffering an asthma attack at Tegan's birthday party.

A GoFundMe page, launched to help the family with funeral costs, has already raised more than £4,200.

A statement on the fundraising page said: 'It is with deep sadness that Tegan sadly passed away due to complications with her asthma.

'As you can imagine the family did not expect to lose Tegan at such a young age of 13-years-old so there is no insurance policy in place to cover this tragic event.

'As I'm sure most of you are already aware Tracy sadly lost her son Owen in 2010 in the same tragic circumstances.

Everyone has been asking what they can do to help and the only thing we would love to make possible is to give Tegan the send off she deserves, so we would like to raise the money to make this possible.'

Pupils at Westley Middle School paid tribute to Tegan during their BBC School Report.

Raksha Chohan-Jones, head of Year 8 at Westley Middle, told the EADT the pupils had prepared a 'sensitive' report on Tegan as part of the BBC media project.
