Taylor Swift was crowned International Artist of the Year at the BBC Music Awards on Thursday night and thanked Norwich for making her year.

The global superstar performed live at Radio 1's Big Weekend in May and last night thanked the Fine City in a video message from Australia, where she is touring.

She said: 'Thank you so much... It was an amazing highlight of the year for me getting to play Big Weekend in Norwich. You guys have been so supportive.'

Also on the night, Adele's 2015 success streak shows no sign of slowing after she won two prestigious gongs at the BBC Music Awards.

The Hello singer was named British Artist of the Year and also took home the BBC Live Performance of the Year title for Adele At The BBC, a BBC One special.

Jack Garratt was given the BBC Music Introducing Artist of the Year Award, and Hozier's Take Me To Church was crowned by public vote as Song of the Year.

The evening saw performances from Ellie Goulding and Little Mix, among others.
