An aspiring performer has beaten thousands of girls after becoming a semi-finalist in a national modelling competition.
Gabriella Ryan, 17, from Swafield near North Walsham, is among about 60 teenagers hoping to be crowned Miss Teen Great Britain 2014 in September at Blackpool.
The Paston Sixth Form College student, who was a child model, entered the contest in November.
She said: “I sent in my details and photos and didn’t think anything of it. I was very shocked to be picked because it was such a long shot. Everyone is really excited and supportive.
“I would be thrilled to win it because I would love to show people pageants are not always about what you look like. You can be really talented and help people.
“I would love to help girls my own age. It would make me so happy to be somebody’s role model.”
Part of getting to the final includes getting enough likes on Miss Ryan’s Facebook page. She is called Gabbi Ryan on the social networking site.
The big event is at The Globe on Blackpool Pleasure Beach on August 31 and September 1. The winner receives £1,000 among other prizes.
Miss Ryan is currently studying A-levels in performance studies, drama and theatre studies and PE.
She added she was serious about pursuing a career in modelling and performing after leaving college this summer.
