Police have said the sudden death of a man in Thetford is not being treated as suspicious.

Officers were called to a property in the town on Tuesday morning by the ambulance service.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We received a call today [Tuesday] at 9.56am to reports of a person in cardiac arrest on Norwich Road, Thetford.

“We dispatched a CFR, two ambulances, and co response units from Norfolk Fire. Sadly despite the best efforts of everyone involved they were pronounced dead at the scene. Our thoughts are with all those involved.”

A police cordon was put in place and forensic officers were at the property carrying out inquiries late into the evening.

But this morning (Wednesday) a police spokesman said: “The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
