A long circus vehicle which became stuck on a bridge this lunchtime, blocked a north Norfolk road for a short time.
The Russells International Circus wagon was trying to negotiate a bridge on Briton’s Lane, Beeston Regis, near Sheringham, when the angle of the vehicle meant that fuel trickled to the back, starving the engine, according to a police spokesman.
Police were called to the scene shortly after 1pm. Traffic was moving slowly again by about 1.45pm.
Russells will be putting up the Big Top ready for performances at Cookies car boot site, Beeston Regis, between Wednesday, March 27 and Sunday, April 14.
A special fundraising show for the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, in particular the Quidenham centre, will be held on Thursday, March 28 at 6pm.
Terrorism returned to the streets of London today as two suspected Muslim fanatics butchered a man in broad daylight in the name of “Allah”.

In reply to Lord Elf, every year the Circus visits it gets a special permit to go down Britains lane as the large lorries cannot negotiate the small roundabouts, in Sheringham and Cromer, the roundabout at the bottom of holoway road is to small to get round for our large lorries, we are sorry if our broken down lorry caused ant disruption and would like to offer anyone affected, half price tickets to our show, simply quote this article at the box office to get your discount, ( NOT VALID WEDNESDAYS )
