Staff at a Norwich timer and builders merchants will be getting in to the Halloween spirit this week and dressing up to raise money for a lifesaving charity.

On October 31, those working at the Hellesdon branch of Ridgeons timber and builders merchants in Reepham Road, Norwich, will be pulling on their fancy dress costumes to raise money for the East Anglian Air Ambulance after staff chose the local charity as the one they wanted to support over the next year.

Customers will be greeted by ghosts and ghouls as they enter the store and will be served by skeletons and witches as they make their purchase. Vampires will wander the premises between 7am and 5pm, encouraging people to donate to the air ambulance with a small donation by either purchasing a raffle tickets or dropping a few coins in to collection buckets.

Tim Young, branch supervisor, said: 'The East Anglian Air Ambulance is a charity very close to my heart as they tried to help my sister when she became ill last year. I'll always be grateful to them for what they did that day but sadly it wasn't enough.

'The staff here have chosen to support this worthwhile cause as their charity of the year and will be getting themselves sponsored to wear fancy dress all day.

'We'll also be asking customers to donate if they're able to spare a bit of loose change on the day. Everyone has really got behind the fundraising and we're all really looking forward to the day which promises to be a lot of fun.'
