A charity for Armed Forces veterans is appealing for more volunteers.
SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, exists to relieve need, suffering and distress amongst the Armed Forces, veterans and their families.
David Lythell, 72, is a SSAFA recruitment officer at the charity’s Norfolk branch on Aylsham Road in Upper Hellesdon.
He said: “We are in urgent need of more volunteers, in particular case workers, who go out and access people’s needs.
“You don’t have to be ex-services to volunteer at all.
“A lot of volunteers are elderly or retired and many can’t offer the time they did a few years ago.
“Cases can be something as simple as helping install a new fridge, all you really need is the motivation and the enthusiasm to help other people.”
Training days in London and residential courses funded by the charity are available.
