The star of the BBC series The Apprentice today flew into Norfolk to have lunch at the Dabbling Duck pub in Great Massingham, between King’s Lynn and Fakenham.

The founder of Amstrad first tweeted “Flying up to Gt Massingham today for Lunch at the Dabbling Duck” in the morning.

At lunchtime he updated his 3,321,820 followers, telling them: “Great lunch at The Dabbling Duck in Gt Massingham. The place was packed out great service.”

However, the peer’s visit was tinged with sadness.

He shared a photo of a toad alert sign in the village, and told his global audience: “In Great Massingham seems they are worried about the toads. Regretfully there are a few flattened on the road.”

It was not the first time Lord Sugar has visited the pub, which opened in 2006.

In September 2012, he described a lunch there as “great”.
