Students from Sprowston Community High School will race a miniature Formula 1 car they have designed, tested and manufactured themselves to compete in the Formula One in Schools Technology Challenge.

Open to students aged nine to 19, the competition challenges them to form teams and create their own Formula 1 car of the future, using computer technology and engineering processes to manufacture a scale-replica of a modern day F1 car.

They are competing at the Central England Regional Final at Aston University Engineering Academy.

Up for grabs is the chance to race at the national final at the ExCel centre in London.

The winners will then compete at the world final at the USA Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, later this year.
