A young Sprowston man overtook a vehicle before the car he was driving crashed into a garden wall, an inquest into his death has heard.

Sam O’Leary died at the scene of the crash on Wroxham Road in Sprowston late on Friday night.

Speaking at the opening of the inquest this afternoon, coroner Jacqueline Lake said a post mortem examination concluded that the 21-year-old died of severe traumatic head injuries due to a road traffic collision.

Mr O’Leary was born in Norwich in 1992, and lived in Clover Road, Sprowston.

The inquest was adjourned to a later date.
