Adrian Tipple, from Sprowston, took part in the Maratona dles Dolomites (Dolomites Marathon) yesterday (July 2), which involved 4,200m in climbing and 150 different ascents and descents. Mr Tipple said he was exhausted, but delighted to have completed the challenge, having raised £598 for Wymondham-based cancer charity Star Throwers as part of it.

He said: “If you’re a cycling enthusiast this is a real bucket-list ride.”

Also taking part in this year’s Dolomites Marathon was former professional road and track racing cyclist Sir Bradley Wiggins.

Mr Tipple said he still hoped to get his fundraising total up to £1,000 for the charity, which provides advice, counselling and complementary therapies. Donations can be made at mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/adriantipple1
