The offender was driving a BMW 730D sport auto car in Mile Cross Lane, which has a 40mph limit. The driver was caught by a mobile camera and prosecuted in court for the offence, which took place during 2011/12.

The highest speed recorded on a fixed camera during 2011/12, according to Norfolk Police’s figures, was by a Kawasaki ZX600 motorbike. It was caught travelling at 128mph on the A47 at West Walton.

In 2010/11, the fastest speed clocked by a fixed camera was 112mph in Mile Cross Lane, Norwich, by a stolen Yamaha YZF 1,000R motorbike, while a mobile camera recorded a Vauxhall Corsa SXI travelling at 93mph on the A148 at Little Snoring.
