Special supplement to commemorate the Queen’s latest trip to Norfolk

Every year Her Majesty the Queen makes a trip to Norfolk for the festive season and her most recent stay at her Sandringham Estate has just come to an end. But what does it mean to the people of Norfolk to have HM in residence? Drew Moore and Jordan Read took to the streets of Norwich to find out.

Tom Richardson, 25, from Sandringham, who is an estate agent, said: “It’s good that she keeps visiting the county. I used to go to Sandringham Primary School and she used to come to watch school plays quite a lot so I’m quite a big supporter of the Queen and her staying locally.”
Queen in Norfolk vox pop. Pictured: Karla DoyleGraham Watts, 54, from Berkshire, a night porter at a girls school, said: “The monarchy is becoming more unfashionable what I think is a shame as it’s good for the country and gives us more character than other countries.”
Jean Nicholls, 59, a secretary from North Norfolk, said: “Wherever she has a residence it probably brings in some sort of money to the area so it’s great for the county.”
