In a week-long series starting tomorrow, EDP reporter Chris Hill reveals what life is like for East Anglia’s soldiers at a tough training camp in Kenya.
He has spent the last week with the 1st Battalion, The Royal Anglian Regiment, in Africa.
In tomorrow’s report, Chris will explain how a simulated battlefield in the middle of the Kenyan desert is helping to prepare the troops for an anticipated return to the conflict in Afghanistan.
Lt Col Mick Aston, the Vikings’ commanding officer, said: “We have done some really hard things in training and even harder things in operations, but for many this will be the hardest thing they’ve ever done.”
The series will continue all next week.
Supporters of Scottish champions Celtic are in Norwich ahead of the Adam Drury testimonial game tonight.
