Temperatures today (Sunday) have reached 14C in Norwich and Marham and, with a light wind coming from the south west rather than the north, it has been busy on the region’s beaches with temperatures along the coast around 12C.

Chris Bell, a forecaster with UEA-based Weatherquest, said the warm, dry weather looks set to continue and could reach up to 20C on Wednesday before cooling off on Friday when it will be cloudier.

People heading out are being reminded of the risk of sunburn and hayfever.

“We’re getting to that time of year where, if you are of a paler complexion and you’re out in the sun for more than half an hour, you are at risk of being burnt so we need to think about sunscreen,” said Mr Bell.

“The pollen count is at medium as well with the trees starting to bud now we’ve got the warmer weather.”

  • Rickhead - I have been out all day monitoring the temperature at different locations along the coast for a local weather monitoring project that I am involved in. No way was I sitting indoors, what a weird assumption you have made. The fact is the weather assessment given in this report was incorrect.

  • Obviously the reporter has not been to Lowestoft today (Sunday). The Suffolk temperatures mentioned in this report are totally different to those on the coast where it has been less than 10C all day and is at present 6C.

  • Who cares what the temperature is.. It's been a lovely day and the sun is shining.. Maybe port watcher should get out a bit more instead of sitting indoors checking whether the forecasters are doing there job properly...
