Snow has accumulated in the outside lane resulting in treacherous driving conditions.

The A47 at Wisbech, King’s Lynn bound, has been closed following a crash.

Norfolk Constabulary have reported eight crashes in the county so far this morning.

Sergeant Chris Harris, of Norfolk Roads Policing, has asked drivers to “slow down and drive to the conditions” after attending to a vehicle that crashed in snowy conditions in Attleborough.

Queues are also building on the A11 and are particularly heavy in the Wymondham area.

Highways England have gritted the majority of major roads, which are now largely slushy, however, most minor roads are untreated and could result in difficult driving conditions.

Some parts of the region were hit with several inches of snow overnight and showers are expected to continue throughout the morning.

Meteorologist Dan Holley reports that the overnight snowfall was heaviest around Blakeney, Dereham and Attleborough.

The scheduled meeting at Fakenham Race Course has been cancelled due to snow on the track.

The Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning for Norfolk and Suffolk, which is in place until 10am, and have advised that icy roads could present a more widespread hazard.
