A six-way fight is on the cards for a vacant county council seat at North Walsham.
Nominations have closed for the by-election at the town's east ward, where Liberal Democrat Ed Foss has stood down, just four months after he was elected to Norfolk County Council. He cited an 'unexpected change in work commitments' for his resignation.
Those throwing their hat in the ring to replace him are: Stephen Burke from Happisburgh (Labour); Lynette Comber from Bodham (UKIP); Graham Jones from Antingham (Independent); Paul Oakes from North Walsham (Green); Rhodri Oliver from Felbrigg (Conservative) and Eric Seward from North Walsham (Liberal Democrat).
Candidates can withdraw up until noon on Wednesday October 2. The election is scheduled for Thursday October 24.
