The car, possibly a new shaped Vauxhall Corsa, and the group of men were involved in a number of incidents which took place in the city centre between 1am and 2am last weekend.

In the first of four attacks, which happened at about 1.05am on Sunday, October 14, a man in his mid 30s was walking along Ketts Hill when, opposite the Castle pub and close to the roundabout, another man got out of a car and asked for a light. A second man then got out of the car and assaulted the victim who then ran away but dropped a bag of shopping in the middle of the road. The second man got back in the car whilst the first man picked up the shopping and the car drove away up Ketts Hill. The victim was left with a swollen face.

The second incident saw two men, aged in their late 20s and mid 30s, walking from the city centre towards the Castle pub at 1.05am, when they were approached from behind close to the former Green’s Health centre, asked for a light and then pushed to the floor several times. The offenders then fled towards Ketts Hill. One man was left with soreness to the head, shoulder and chest, and the other with redness to the face.

Between 1.30am and 2am, two men in their early 20s were walking along Park Lane, when, close to the methodist church, they were approached by a silver car. Four men got out and assaulted them both.

One victim was knocked unconscious and suffered a cut to the head and a bloody nose. The other suffered facial bruising.

Then, between 1.40am and 1.50am, a man in his 20s was on Riverside when a man from a silver car approached him and assaulted him, knocking him to the ground. The victim suffered a cut face and bruising.

DC Lisa Gough, investigating officer said: “I would like to hear from anyone who was in the area of any of these assaults and may have information about the offenders, or may have seen the car in Norwich that night.”

Information to DC Gough on 101.
