Castle Mall shopping centre in Norwich had a special visitor yesterday as Rik, a southern white-faced owl, greeted customers at its Castle Meadow entrance.
The owl is cared for at Wing and a Prayer Wild Bird and Owl Haven in Stratton Strawless, near Hainford, which is trying to raise £5,000 through a Christmas appeal so it can survive through until next spring.
Their plight was featured in the Norwich Evening News on Friday, December 14 and since then they have received over £1,600 in donations.

Naturists are to be banned from a nationally-renowned Norfolk beach following complaints about anti-social behaviour committed in the area.
