The venue has been raising funds through the appeal over the past three years to carry out a range of improvements from reupholstering the seats to upgrading the computer system.

Donations, fundraising events and the sale of Drama Queen roes helped reach the target - and a final bonus as the appeal nears its £35,000 target came from Aylsham and District Round Table.

Theatre director Debbie Thompson who collected the cash from club chairman Paul Wright said the gift came about through one its members’ stepdaughter Daisy Kerry who is involved in the theatre’s outreach drama work.

Mrs Thompson said the appeal - which had also paid of lighting and website improvements, - was now just £1,500 off its target - and she would be glad to hear from anyone who could help towards the final amount. Contact the theatre on 01263 822117.
