The lifeboat was launched at the request of Yarmouth coastguard at around 4.35pm to attend to three people, approximately half a mile off the east promenade at Sheringham, who had been thrown off a jet ski when it hit a wave.

One person swam ashore as the lifeboat arrived on scene and the remaining two people managed to remount the jet ski and continued to “play” in the surf.

No one was injured and no damage was caused to the jet ski or the lifeboat.

A spokesman for Sheringham lifeboat station said: “The lifeboat was launched with good intent.”
