A man was brought safely to shore by Sheringham lifeboat crew after his boat suffered engine trouble this morning.

The Oddfellows lifeboat was launched just after 8.10am to rescue the man one mile north of Blakeney.

The 32 inch Bermudan Rigged sailing boat engine would not restart while it was trying to enter Blakeney harbour before the ebbing tide became too low.

It was safely towed back to Blakeney by 9.30am.
