Developments on how a coastal town will cope with future flooding will be explained at a public town council meeting.

The Sheringham Annual Town Meeting will be held on April 22 at Sheringham Community Centre from 7.30pm. Anyone can attend.

A presentation will be made by Richard Cook, civil contingencies manager for North Norfolk District Council, who was heavily involved in protecting communities during the December 5/6 floods.

Representatives from the Sheringham and District Sports Association, based on Weybourne Road near the Splash Leisure Centre, will also talk about what the group has achieved and future plans.

The town meeting will also feature the community awards presentations to groups or individuals who do good work in the Sheringham and might otherwise be unrecognised.

People of all ages are eligible for the scheme, however they should not gain or profit from their voluntary work. Nomination forms can be picked up from the town hall and must be returned by February 13.
