Sewer works mean Cromer’s Canada Road will be closed from today
A Cromer road has been shut for four days as part of a £2.3m project to upgrade the county’s sewers.
Canada Road will be closed from today (Wednesday) to Saturday in order to reline the sewer that runs along the middle of the road.
Overnight closures are also planned for the same town in Hamilton Road (November 16-17), Cambridge Street (November 22–23), and Bond Street (November 28-30).
The scheme will see nearly 8km throughout of sewers relined to protect the brickwork and keep them flowing for decades to come.
Sarah Dobson, from Anglian Water, said: “Every year Anglian Water surveys hundreds of kilometres of sewers.
“Relining sewers and creating a brand new sewer inside an existing pipe is far less disruptive for local residents. The new lining sets hard, effectively creating a brand new pipe.
“We hope the people of Cromer will understand the importance of the scheme.”
