• Tour of Britain 2015
The roadsides will be lined, the bunting will be proudly hung and decorative bicycles will be placed along the route this Saturday as Norfolk celebrates the return of the Tour of Britain to our region. For more information visit the Tour of Britain section of our website. If you can’t get there, the EDP will be running a live blog on Saturday. • The Norfolk Churches Trust sponsored bike ride and walk
Pump up your tyres, dust off your walking boots, pack a picnic and plan a route from your own door to visit as many of the most beautiful churches in Norfolk as you can on Saturday. The Bike Ride has raised around £2,700,000 over the past 31 years.
• Thetford family fun day
A great day out including bike designing, cycling, drawing competitions, and opportunities to find out more about how bicycles can be recycled. All the events are taking place throughout the day in Thetford town centre.
• Norwich City FC v Bournemouth FC
The Canaries play host to the Cherries this weekend, with both sides fresh from the international break and looking to continue their solid starts to the Barclays Premier League season. The last few seats are still on sale, but if you can’t get to the game we will have all the action in our live match blog.
Sunday 6th September
• Norfolk Heritage Open Days
A range of fascinating venues across the county are opening for the annual Heritage Open Days festival, including St Barnabus’ Church, Norwich and Happisburgh Lighthouse, north Norfolk on Sunday. A full list of venues open across the weekend is available here.
• Barbers, Butchers and Beer
This family event celebrates the most prevalent historic industries, with special events in King’s Lynn’s Saturday market place giving visitors the chance to sample these modern trades as well as learning a bit about their history, between 11.00am and 5.00pm on Sunday.
• King’s Lynn Classic Car Day
The Classic Car Day will make a welcome return to the Tuesday Market Place on Sunday, once again coinciding with Heritage Open Day, organised by King’s Lynn Civic Society. The air raid shelters beneath the Tuesday Market Place will also be opened to the public as part of Heritage Open Day.
