A student suffered minor head injuries after being hit by a car on his way to school in Dereham this morning.
Emergency services were called to Cemetery Road, near Northgate High School, at 8.35am after the boy was hit by a Ford Fiesta.
The ambulance service said a rapid response car and an ambulance were sent and the casualty, believed to be aged about 12, was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for assessment, with a cut to his head.
A police spokesman said that although there were initial concerns about the severity of the head injury, it was later classed as minor following tests and X-rays.
The spokesman said: “The car driver was spoken to and, as with any injury collision, the officers will put together a file and it will be reviewed.”
