Putting together an event on the scale of Run Norwich is a mammoth undertaking, and it would not be possible without a host of volunteers to help.

Event manager Any Crewe said up to 400 people gave their time to pitch in and help make the 10km run, which takes place on Sunday (August 6), a reality.

She said: 'There are all kinds of roles - from the race marshals, to those helping out at the water stations or handing out medals at the finish line, to those at the race village at Chapelfield Gardens. They all help to bring the city to life on the Sunday morning.'

Many of the volunteers are recruited by the run's four official charities, which this year are Norwich City's Community Sports Foundation, Big C, SERV Norfolk and Mind.

Race organisers will start recruiting for next year's Run Norwich in January. Follow the announcements at www.runnorwich.co.uk for more.
