Ricky Minns, also known as Ruddy Muddy, 43, was inspired after watching the BBC’s Blue Planet 2 and is hoping the picture’s sale will raise funds to help tackle the growing problem of plastic in our oceans.

Ruddy Muddy gets his name from his trademark style of art, whereby he depicts images on the back of white vans using mud.

His art often pays tribute to famous faces and his designs have also been used to support regional causes.

His most recent work marked Prince Harry’s engagement to Meghan Markle.

Ruddy Muddy’s David Attenborough picture is the first mud design he has lifted from a van and put up for sale.

Bidding in the charitable auction closes just before 4pm.
