Former EastEnder Todd Carty on stage as Countess of Wessex takes Lady Louise and her brother James to the panto
The King’s Lynn Corn Exchange welcomed some very special guests to the pantomime Aladdin.
The Countess of Wessex and children Lady Louise and her brother James were among the audience for the show starring former EastEnders and Grange Hill actor Todd Carty.
The royal visitors watched the traditional festive show the day after Boxing Day and are the first members of the royal family to have watched a panto at the Corn Exchange.
When Princes William and Harry were children the Princess of Wales took them to see a show at the Princess Theatre, Hunstanton, when it was the annual host for the borough’s pantomime.
This year’s production, which closed on New Year’s Eve, proved popular with all the school shows sold-out and a packed auditorium for the majority of regular performances.
Aladdin opened on December 7 and the Corn Exchange is already selling tickets for this year’s show - Beauty and the Beast which opens on December 6.
“We were really happy with how Aladdin went. It was on a par with last year, which was Cinderella and that is a show which always sells more than any other panto,” said a Corn Exchange spokesman.
