A King's Lynn mum has been left disappointed again after a Rolf Harris painting she owns failed to sell at auction for a second time yesterday.

Cathy Sims had hoped to take her six-year-old son to Disneyland Paris with the proceeds of the sale, but the portrait of Bonnie Tyler did not reach its 25,000 reserve price yesterday afternoon.

The artwork had been valued at 50,000 by an art expert on the BBC's Antiques Roadshow before it went under the hammer at John Taylors Auctioneers in Louth, Lincolnshire.

Miss Sims was given the picture by her father when she was six years old after he bought it for 50 at a charity auction at Sutton Bridge.

After the BBC show was aired last year, Miss Sims, who works for Ellab, in Bawburgh, near Norwich, admitted she couldn't afford to keep it because of how much it would cost to insure.

The artwork then went under the hammer in May at Barry Hawkins Auctioneers in Downham Market where it fell short of its 30,000 reserve price.
