But now Southwold is on the rock music map after an up and coming band shot a video on the town’s coast this morning.

The four members of Suffolk-based band Never A Hero turned people’s heads as they were filmed early in the morning in their eye catching masks swimming off the beach by the Alfred Corry Museum and running and cycling along nearby roads.

Today’s surreal scenes were being shot for a triathlon-based video for the band’s single Trippin’ on Speed.

As the band were filming people from a nearby caravan site were heard to say: “There are some weird guys with masks cycling out there.”

The band were formed 10 months ago and they describe their style of music as a blend of metal, rock and rap.

In the last 10 months the band have appeared on music channels Kerrang and Scuzz and performed in front of large crowds at the Ipswich Music Festival and O2 Academy.

Never a Hero also have more than 10,000 fans following the band on websites.

Lead singer Mickey Thin said: “The video is something different. We did get some odd looks.

“We went swimming at 6.30am and it was bit a cold to put it mildly.

“We hope people will like the video and hopefully we will get a new set of fans.”

Never A Hero hail from Sudbury but their latest member lead guitarist Kaji, 22, is from Lowestoft and joined the group two months ago.

Describing his experience in the band so far Kaji said: “It is really good, really exciting. This was my first video shoot and it was great fun.”

The video has been made for website such as Youtube and the television channels Kerrang and Scuzz.

Trippin’ On Speed can be down loaded for free from the band’s Facebook internet page which can by accessed through their website www.neverahero.co.uk and then clicking on the contact section.
