Work has been carried out to repair damage caused in the recent tidal surge to the road in King’s Staithe Square.

A spokesperson for Norfolk County Council said: “Our work to carry out urgent temporary repairs to the depression in the road in King’s Staithe Square should be finished by the end of today.

“We have managed to keep the road open during the work by restricting the width of the lane, however later in January the road is likely be closed for a number of days when we return to carry out permanent repairs.

“Now we have been able to investigate the cause of the depression it does appear that it was due to the recent floods washing away some material under the road surface. “Until the permanent repairs are carried out early next year a section of the square will remain barriered off, but this will not affect road access.”
