Waveney Norse and Waveney District Council are providing free parking tomorrow in Waveney car parks for residents of St Johns Road.
Norse are conducting a cleansing operation in the street following Thursday night’s floods and while this is underway, residents’ vehicles will be accommodated by the council elsewhere - for anyone who displays a leaflet which was posted through doors this morning.
Stephen Ardley, Deputy Leader of Waveney District Council said: “This is the very least we could do as the clear up continues. We are working hard to support affected communities and in particularly in St Johns Road where they have been badly hit.”
Gareth Douce, local ward councillor, said: “I have been working closely with the residents of St Johns Road to support them and I am delighted that, as a council, we have been able to very quickly set up a scheme to provide free park. Good teamwork all round.”
