Love was in the air at a sheltered housing scheme as residents toasted its 20th birthday and a new look.
Flagship Housing has just spent £33,000 givign King’s Court, in Thetford, a fresh lick of paint and residents celebrated with a Valentine’s Day themed coffee morning to celebrate.
The 20-year-old scheme of 28 flats has a mix of one and two-bedroom homes. Refurbishment saw work improvements including the installation of timber cladding, timber windows, rendering in the courtyard and the redecoration of communal areas, lounge, lobby and hallway.
Work was completed in January and Joyce Duer, residents, said it would be made the most of.
“Now that it has been redecorated, it’s nice and clean and fresh. We use the lounge quite a bit and enjoy getting together here to play bingo and on Wednesdays we have an art class.”
Sid Flude, residents, said: ““We love living here, we feel safe and secure. They have made a good job of the redecorating and it’s a nice community and place to socialise.”
