Rescue teams were called out after a kite surfer got in to trouble off Southwold beach.

The Lowestoft and Southwold Coastguard and the RNLI Southwold Lifeboat were called to the incident at about 3pm yesterday (Friday, December 27).

The kite surfer made it to shore safely before the rescuers arrived. It is understood the problem was caused by equipment failure.

Southwold Lifeboat continued to launch to recover the kite surfer’s equipment to prevent any further 999 calls.
