Armed police were deployed to the Great Yarmouth port area after reports of someone being seen with a gun.
The incident was reported to Norfolk police on Tuesday at 4.20pm with reports of a group of males in a restricted port area.
Police said there were three males in their teens and early 20s and they voluntarily handed over a BB gun.
No formal complaint was made and no arrests or further police action was taken.
