So what's next, making burglary legal? That road is narrow as it is for all the existing traffic heading in one direction. Adding a cycle lane is not going to make it "better", just much more dangerous for all road users. What's going to happen when a cyclist finds another cyclists heading towards them in a too-narrow cycle lane? They'll dodge - right underneath a bus! It would be better to find an alternative route that is safer for the cyclists, such as the existing Magpie Rd, Esdelle St, Edward St route - and signpost it well that make other roads into death traps.
