A man has been arrested in connection with a fire that destroyed a kitchen and bathroom showroom in Aylsham this summer.
More than 70 firefighters tackled the blaze, which devastated Aylsham Bathroom and Kitchen Centre in Burgh Road on June 27.
A 39-year-old man from the Reepham area has been arrested in connection with the fire and has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
Norfolk Police are now appealing for information about the circumstances leading up to the blaze, which could be seen 13 miles away in Norwich city centre and took more than seven hours to get under control.
Detective sergeant Darren Reade said, “This was a huge blaze on the day of the Royal Norfolk Show which was attended by all emergency services and the A140 was closed whilst the fire was tackled, so I would hope that although this happened three months ago, anyone who was in the area may remember what they saw or heard and will come forward to assist our investigation.”
Speaking in June, fire station manager John Baker said the 60 x 40m building was left an “almost total loss” after the flames ripped through the roof and inside of the building.
The emergency services were alerted to the fire at about 5.30pm after the business had closed for the day.
At the height of the blaze, eight appliances were in attendance, plus the environmental protection unit, two water carriers, the aerial ladder platform and support appliances, and the control unit from Wymondham.
Anyone with information about the incident can contact Great Yarmouth CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
